Meet The Leadership Team

Founder/Owner

“I always try to leave the woodpile higher than I found it.”

A lifelong Rochester resident and proud St. Bonaventure University graduate, Lauren Goetz has built a life rooted in community, connection, and service. After 25 years in Corporate America as both an accountant and a professional recruiter—and overcoming breast cancer—Lauren decided it was time for a change.

In 2016, she began lending a hand to neighbors, friends, and loved ones: sitting with an elderly neighbor for companionship, picking up prescriptions, helping kids catch the morning bus, and delivering forgotten lunch boxes. Word spread quickly, and what started as simple kindness grew into a thriving service built on trust, care, and personal connection.

Known for her warmth, integrity, and creative problem-solving, Lauren is deeply committed to helping people manage “the small stuff” that makes daily life easier and more enjoyable. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, knitting, and spending time outdoors. She serves on the board of her neighborhood association, is active in the Rochester Women’s Network, and, with her husband Scott, cherishes time at their Kendall cottage, on the boat, or gathered around a backyard fire.

Operations Manager

If anything is worth doing, do it with all your heart.” Buddha

Joining Everyday Hands in 2021, Liz Nelson has grown from Assistant to Senior Assistant and now serves as Operations Manager. Her career has blended public-facing and administrative roles, primarily in healthcare, where she discovered a deep passion for supporting the aging population.

One of the most rewarding aspects of Liz’s work is the personal connections she builds with each of her clients and their families. Her professional experience includes a particular focus on supporting adults living with dementia.

Liz lives in West Irondequoit with her significant other, and together they have three adult children, pet birds, and cherished grand pets. Family is extremely important to her. Her favorite season is summer for its outdoor and water activities, and she enjoys many creative hobbies, finding tranquility in nature, music, and art.

Liz values the opportunity to contribute to a field that reflects her core values. Providing support to others has consistently been central to her professional journey, and she is privileged to be a member of the Everyday Hands team.
